Method

Cooking the Steak

1

Prepare the Steak

Season the New York Strip with salt and black pepper on both sides.

2

Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare.

3

Add Steak Butter

During the last minute of cooking, add the steak butter on top of the steak and let it melt.

Making Mashed Potatoes

4

Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

5

Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Cooking Seasonal Vegetables

6

Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add zucchini, carrots, and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serving

7

Plate the Dish

Serve the seared New York Strip alongside a generous helping of mashed potatoes and sautéed seasonal vegetables.
