Method
Marinating the Beef

- 2
Marinate the Beef
Slice the beef sirloin against the grain into thin strips. Add the beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for best flavor.
Cooking the Rice
- 3
Rinse the Rice
Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 4
Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
Cooking the Beef
- 5
Cook the Beef
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef (reserve the marinade) and cook for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Pour in the reserved marinade and allow to simmer for an additional 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serving
- 6
Plate the Dish
Serve the cooked beef teriyaki over a bed of rice. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
