Brownie Base
- 1
Prepare the Brownie Mixture
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, whisking until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, whisking after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- 2
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring just until combined.
- 3
Add Chocolate Shavings
Fold in chocolate shavings into the brownie batter.
- 4
Bake
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Salted Caramel Sauce

Make the Caramel
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar, stirring constantly until it turns a golden amber color.
- 6
Add Butter and Cream
Remove from heat and carefully add the unsalted butter, stirring until melted, then slowly add the heavy cream while whisking continuously.
- 7
Add Sea Salt
Return to low heat and stir in sea salt until dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Whipped Cream
- 8
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
Assembly
- 9
Assemble the Dessert
Once the brownies have cooled, cut them into squares. Drizzle the warm salted caramel sauce over the brownies and top with a dollop of whipped cream.
- 10
Serve
Sprinkle additional sea salt and chocolate shavings on top, if desired. Serve immediately while warm.
