Method

Prepare the Fruit Filling

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Fruit

Wash and chop the seasonal fruit into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Add Flavorings

Add granulated sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon to the fruit. Toss gently until the fruit is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Transfer to Baking Dish

Spread the fruit mixture evenly in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Make the Crisp Topping

  1. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

  2. 6

    Add Butter

Pour in the melted butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. 7

    Top the Fruit

Sprinkle the crisp topping evenly over the fruit filling in the baking dish.

Bake the Crisp

  1. 8

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

  2. 9

    Cool Slightly

Remove from the oven and let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Serve

  1. 10

    Dish Out

Serve the warm fruit crisp in bowls with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
