Salad Base

Method

Preparing the Croutons

  1. 1

    Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Step 2: Prepare Focaccia Bread

Cut the focaccia bread into bite-sized cubes, about 1 inch in size.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Toss with Seasoning

In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Bake Croutons

Spread the seasoned bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.

Making the Caesar Dressing

  1. 5

    Step 1: Prepare Ingredients

    Mince the garlic cloves finely.

  2. 6

    Step 2: Mix Dressing

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and grated Parmesan cheese.

  3. 7

    Step 3: Season

Add salt and black pepper to the dressing, and whisk until smooth and creamy.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 8

    Step 1: Prepare Romaine

Wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Tear it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 9

    Step 2: Combine Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the torn romaine lettuce and the Caesar dressing. Toss until the lettuce is well coated.

  3. 10

    Step 3: Add Croutons

Add the freshly baked focaccia croutons to the salad and toss gently to combine.

  4. 11

    Step 4: Serve

Serve the salad immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
