Toppings
Method
Tater Tots Preparation
- 1
Bake the Tater Tots
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread the frozen tater tots evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
- 2
Fry the Tater Tots (Optional)
For a more indulgent option, heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large saucepan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the tater tots in batches, frying them for about 3-5 minutes or until they are golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Jalapeño Fondue Preparation
- 3
Make the Fondue
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, jalapeño peppers, and milk. Stir continuously until the cheeses are melted and the mixture is smooth. Add garlic powder and salt, mixing well. Remove from heat and keep warm.
Assembly
- 4
Assemble the Tater Tots
Once the tater tots are cooked, remove them from the oven or fryer and place them on a serving platter. Drizzle the jalapeño fondue generously over the top.
- 5
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and chopped green onions over the fondue-covered tater tots. Add dollops of sour cream on top or serve on the side.
- 6
Serve
Serve immediately while hot, garnishing with extra green onions and jalapeño slices if desired.
