Method

Bread Bites

1

Prepare the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine the Parmesan cheese, flour, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well.

2

Add Wet Ingredients

Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. Add the melted butter, egg, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

3

Shape the Bites

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Scoop small amounts of the dough and shape them into bite-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

4

Bake the Bites

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and let cool slightly.

Caramelized Onions

5

Slice the Onions

Peel and slice the yellow onions thinly.

6

Cook the Onions

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, salt, and sugar. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

Queso

7

Melt the Cheeses

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the Gruyere cheese, cream cheese, and milk. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.

8

Season the Queso

Add the garlic powder and black pepper to the cheese mixture. Stir until well combined.

9

Incorporate Caramelized Onions

Fold in the caramelized onions into the queso mixture.

10

Serve with Bread Bites

Serve the warm queso with the Parmesan bread bites and sprinkle bread crumbs on top for extra crunch.
