Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ground Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the blackening seasoning. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat, then form into two equal 8 oz. patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. If using a grill, add the patties directly onto the grill grates.

Toppings Preparation

  1. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

In a separate skillet, add a tablespoon of oil and heat over medium-low. Add sliced onions and cook slowly, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.

  2. 4

    Prepare Fire Roasted Poblanos

If using fresh poblanos, roast them over an open flame or under a broiler until the skin is charred and blistered. Place them in a plastic bag to steam for 10 minutes, then peel, seed, and chop.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each artisan roll, place the cooked blackened patty. Top with caramelized onions, fire roasted poblanos, and a slice of pepperjack cheese. Optionally, cover with the top half of the roll.

  2. 6

    Add Guacamole

Spread a generous amount of guacamole on top of the burger or serve on the side.
