Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix the warm water and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  3. 3

    Let it Rise

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 4

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to the highest setting, around 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.

  2. 5

    Roll Out the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 6

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the rolled-out dough. Top with mozzarella cheese and evenly distribute the anchovies. Add fresh basil leaves and drizzle with olive oil.

  4. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or onto the hot pizza stone) and bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 8

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
