Yuzu Teriyaki Sauce
Method
Preparing the Short Ribs
- 1
Season the Ribs
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the pork short ribs to evenly season them.
- 2
Sear the Ribs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the short ribs and sear them on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3
Slow Roast the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the seared short ribs in a roasting pan and cover tightly with aluminum foil. Roast in the preheated oven for 3 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender.
Making the Yuzu Teriyaki Sauce
- 4
Combine Ingredients
In a medium saucepan, combine yuzu juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, and mirin. Stir well to combine.
- 5
Thicken the Sauce
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water together to create a slurry. Bring the saucepan to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce while whisking, and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

Serve the Ribs
Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes. Slice the ribs and arrange on a serving platter. Drizzle the yuzu teriyaki sauce over the ribs before serving.
