Tuna Preparation

Prepare the Tuna
Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the tuna with salt and black pepper.

Sear the Tuna
In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil. Once hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

Coat with Sesame Seeds
Remove the tuna from the pan and press sesame seeds onto the seared sides of the tuna steaks. Let them rest while you prepare the sauce.

Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil until smooth and well-combined.
Garnish and Serve

Prepare the Avocado
Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice it thinly.

Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the dish, along with chili flakes to taste.
