Method

Tuna Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the tuna with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil. Once hot, place the tuna steaks in the pan and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Coat with Sesame Seeds

Remove the tuna from the pan and press sesame seeds onto the seared sides of the tuna steaks. Let them rest while you prepare the sauce.

Miso Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil until smooth and well-combined.

Garnish and Serve

  1. 5

    Prepare the Avocado

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and slice it thinly.

  2. 6

    Plate the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange the sliced avocado next to the seared tuna. Drizzle the miso sauce over the tuna and avocado.

  3. 7

    Final Touches

Chop the green onions and sprinkle them over the dish, along with chili flakes to taste.

  4. 8

    Serve Immediately

Enjoy your Miso Sesame Tuna while it's fresh and warm!
