Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, chili paste, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.

Add the ground beef or chicken to the marinade. Mix well to coat the meat evenly. Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking

Cook the Protein
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the marinated ground beef or chicken. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Add Vegetables
Once the meat is cooked, add the chopped scallions and fresh basil to the skillet. Stir and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the basil is wilted and the scallions are slightly tender.

Assemble the Lettuce Wraps
Take a lettuce leaf and spoon a generous amount of the cooked meat mixture into the center. Fold the sides of the lettuce leaf over the filling and enjoy as a wrap.
