Method
Preparation of Filling
- 1
Mix Filling Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, peeled shrimp (chopped into small pieces), finely chopped scallions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Assembling Wontons
- 2
Prepare Wontons
Lay a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of the wrapper. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water using your finger.
- 3
Fold Wontons
Fold the wrapper over to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly. Ensure there are no air bubbles inside. For a decorative touch, you can pleat the edges.
- 4
Repeat
Repeat the process with the remaining filling and wonton wrappers until all are filled and sealed.
Frying
- 5
Heat Oil
In a large frying pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it is hot but not smoking.
- 6
Fry Wontons
Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking.
- 7
Drain Wontons
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried wontons and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
