Filling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated and smooth.
Wrapping
- 2
Assemble the Rangoon
Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Then bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to secure, forming a classic crab rangoon shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Frying
- 3
Fry the Crab Rangoon
In a large frying pan or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the prepared crab rangoon in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Using a slotted spoon, remove the rangoon from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 4
Serve
Serve the crab rangoon hot with your choice of dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
