Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm milk (about 110°F) and sugar. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with melted unsalted butter and the eggs. Mix until a dough starts to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is sticky, add more flour as needed.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Shape and Bake

  1. 6

    Shape the Rolls

After the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  2. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.

  3. 8

    Preheat Oven

While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 9

    Bake the Rolls

Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

  5. 10

    Add Topping

Melt the remaining unsalted butter and brush it over the warm rolls. Sprinkle with sea salt before serving.
