Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir until dissolved, then sprinkle the active dry yeast over the top. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well to ensure even distribution of salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients. Add the activated yeast mixture, warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the well. Mix until a dough begins to form.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Shaping and Baking

  1. 6

    Shape Rolls

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  2. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a damp cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes until puffy.

  3. 8

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 9

    Bake Rolls

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 10

    Prepare Topping

While the rolls are baking, melt the 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small bowl. Stir in garlic powder and chopped parsley.

  6. 11

    Glaze Rolls

Once the rolls are out of the oven, brush them with the garlic butter mixture while they are still warm.
