Yeast Roll Ingredients

Method

Directions for Yeast Rolls

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Prepare Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine milk, melted butter, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir well.

  3. 3

    Add Flour and Egg

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. Add the egg and mix until incorporated.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  6. 6

    Shape Rolls

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.

  7. 7

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  9. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove rolls from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving warm.
