Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and 1/2 cup of butter until warm (not hot). Stir in the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and eggs. Mix until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread 1/2 cup of softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

  4. 4

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.

  5. 5

    Second Rise

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

  6. 6

    Bake the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, 4 tbsp of softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  8. 8

    Frost and Serve

Once the rolls are baked and slightly cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting on top and serve warm.
