Chicken Wings
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Marinate
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken wings and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 3
Dredge the Wings
In a shallow dish, add the all-purpose flour. Remove the chicken wings from the marinade and allow excess buttermilk to drip off, then dredge each wing in the flour, shaking off any excess.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the dredged chicken wings to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to crowd the pan. Fry for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Using a slotted spoon, remove the wings from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
