Preparation

  1. 1

    Gather Ingredients

Make sure you have all the ingredients ready: Pierre Ferrend Cognac, Campari, Pernod, Dom Benedictine, and Salted Maple Shrub.

  2. 2

    Prepare Shrub

If you don't have pre-made Salted Maple Shrub, you can make it by mixing equal parts of maple syrup and vinegar, add a pinch of salt, and let it sit for a few hours.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz of Pierre Ferrend Cognac, 1 oz of Campari, 0.5 oz of Pernod, 0.5 oz of Dom Benedictine, and 0.5 oz of Salted Maple Shrub.

  2. 4

    Shake

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Serving

  1. 5

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled coupe or rocks glass.

  2. 6

    Garnish

Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink, then place the strip in the glass as a garnish.
