Panna Cotta

Method

Panna Cotta Preparation

  1. 1

    Soften the Gelatin

In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over 1 tablespoon of water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes sponge-like.

  2. 2

    Heat Cream Mixture

In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Dissolve Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from heat. Add the softened gelatin to the hot cream mixture and stir until completely dissolved.

  4. 4

    Add Passion Fruit Puree

Stir in the passion fruit puree into the cream mixture until well combined.

  5. 5

    Pour into Molds

Divide the panna cotta mixture evenly into serving molds or cups. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Topping Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Toppings

While the panna cotta is setting, prepare the toppings. If using fresh passion fruit, cut them in half and scoop out the pulp, setting aside.

  2. 7

    Serve

Once the panna cotta has set, carefully unmold it onto plates. Top each panna cotta with candied coconut flakes, crispy meringues, and fresh passion fruit pulp. Serve immediately.
