    Prepare the Glass

    Place a rocks glass on a flat surface.

    Muddle the Sugar

    Add the sugar cube to the glass. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently crush the sugar cube.

    Add Bitters

    Add two dashes of Angostura bitters over the crushed sugar in the glass.

    Add Water

    Pour 1 teaspoon of water over the sugar and bitters mixture to help dissolve the sugar.

    Stir the Mixture

    Using a spoon, stir the mixture until the sugar is fully dissolved.

    Add Ice

    Fill the glass with ice cubes to about three-quarters full.

    Pour the Bourbon

    Pour 2 ounces of bourbon over the ice in the glass.

    Garnish with Orange Peel

    Take a strip of orange peel and twist it over the drink to release its oils. Then, drop the peel into the glass as a garnish.
