Pasta

Method

Preparing Pasta

  1. 1

    Cook Fettuccine

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and reserve about 1 cup of the pasta cooking water. Set the pasta aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 3

    Melt Butter

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it is fully melted and starts to bubble slightly.

  2. 4

    Add Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Cream

Slowly pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously to combine it with the butter and garlic mixture. Bring it to a gentle simmer.

  4. 6

    Add Cheese

Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta cooking water to reach the desired consistency.

  5. 7

    Season the Sauce

Season with black pepper to taste. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly mixed.

Combining Pasta and Sauce

  1. 8

    Combine

Add the drained fettuccine noodles to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 9

    Garnish

Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for garnish. Serve immediately.
