Preparation

  1. 1

    Chill the Glass

Begin by chilling your cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Michter's Rye, 1 oz of Campari, 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth, and 0.5 oz of Giffard Crème de Cacao.

  3. 3

    Add Bitters

Add 2 dashes of chocolate bitters into the mixing glass with the other ingredients.

  4. 4

    Stir

Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds, until well-chilled.

  5. 5

    Strain and Serve

Empty the ice water from your chilled cocktail glass and strain the mixture into the glass.

  6. 6

    Garnish

Express the oils from an orange twist over the drink and drop it in as garnish.
