Slice the green tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices. Season with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Breading Setup

Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with buttermilk, and one with cornmeal.

  3. 3

    Bread the Tomatoes

Dredge each tomato slice in flour, dip in buttermilk, then coat with cornmeal.

  4. 4

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded tomatoes until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove the fried tomatoes and drain on paper towels.

Pimento Cheese

    Mix Ingredients

In a bowl, combine sharp cheddar, cream cheese, pimentos, garlic powder, onion powder, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth.

  2. 7

Refrigerate the pimento cheese for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Apple Cider Gastrique

  1. 8

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine apple cider vinegar, sugar, and water.

  2. 9

    Cook

Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until reduced by half, about 10 minutes.
