Main Ingredients

Basic Side (choose one)

Method

Preparing the Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the filet mignon dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over the surface of the steak. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cooking the Steak

Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned filet mignon to the pan. Cook for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

Preparing the Lobster Tail

  1. 3

    Prepare the Lobster Tail

Using kitchen shears, cut down the center of the lobster shell, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull apart the shell and lift the lobster meat out, resting it on top of the shell.

  2. 4

    Season the Lobster

Drizzle the lobster meat with olive oil and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper.

  3. 5

    Cook the Lobster

In the same skillet or on the grill, place the lobster tail meat side down. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the flesh is opaque and cooked through.

Preparing the Side

  1. 6

    Choose and Serve the Side

Prepare your chosen basic side according to package instructions or your preferred recipe. Serve alongside the surf and turf.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a large plate, place the cooked filet mignon and lobster tail together. Add the side dish of your choice next to the meat. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired.
