Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cheese
Unwrap the mozzarella cheese sticks and set them aside on a plate.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and a mixture of breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Breading the Sticks
- 3
Coat the Cheese
Take each mozzarella stick, first roll it in the flour to coat, then dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, and finally roll it in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
- 4
Repeat the Process
Repeat the coating process for all mozzarella sticks. For extra crunch, consider repeating the egg and breadcrumb steps again.
Frying
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Sticks
Carefully add the breaded mozzarella sticks to the hot oil, being sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 7
Drain and Cool
Using a slotted spoon, remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.
Serving
- 8
Serve Hot
Serve the mozzarella sticks warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
