Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Cook the Pasta
In a large pot of boiling salted water, add the gluten-free fettuccine pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
Making the Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- 4
Create the Alfredo Sauce
Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
Serving
- 6
Add Meat (Optional)
If using, top the pasta with sliced grilled chicken or grilled steak as desired.
- 7
Serve
Plate the fettuccine Alfredo and garnish with extra Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper if desired. Serve immediately.
