Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold running water, scrubbing the shells with a brush to remove any dirt or barnacles. Remove the beards by pulling them away from the shell.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 3

    Add Wine and Lemon Juice

Pour in the dry white wine and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  3. 4

    Cook Mussels

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot, cover it with a lid, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened up. Discard any that remain closed.

  4. 5

    Season and Serve

Once the mussels are cooked, stir in the chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the delicious broth.
