Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). This low temperature will help cook the ribs slowly and keep them tender.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs by sliding a knife under it and pulling it off. This will help the rub penetrate better.

  3. 3

    Apply Dry Rub

In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Rub the mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 4

    Wrap and Bake

Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.

  2. 5

    Prepare Barbecue Sauce

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue sauce. In a saucepan, mix together ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finishing Touches

  1. 6

    Glaze the Ribs

Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and unwrap them. Brush the barbecue sauce generously over the ribs.

  2. 7

    Broil

Place the ribs under the broiler for 5-10 minutes until the sauce caramelizes and becomes sticky. Watch closely to prevent burning.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove from the broiler, let rest for a few minutes, then cut into portions and serve with extra barbecue sauce on the side.
