Kids' Lite Racer Adapt 7.0 Shoes Kids Recipe

Cut and prepare materials

Trace and cut the engineered mesh, synthetic microfibre overlays, and lining pieces using the kids' lite racer adapt 7.0 pattern. Ensure mirror-image pairs for left and right uppers. Label each piece with left/right and panel position.

Attach overlays to mesh

Place the synthetic microfibre overlays onto the mesh upper panels aligned to the design. Use heat-activated bonding tape along overlay edges and press with a heat press or iron (low heat setting). Allow to cool, then stitch around high-stress seams with the sewing machine using nylon thread (topstitch 2 mm from edge).

Install heel counter and tongue

Insert the molded heel counter into the lining heel pocket. Position the padded tongue foam between the lining and the upper tongue panel; stitch around the tongue perimeter to secure. Reinforce tongue top with a short bar tack for durability.

Add eyelets and laces

Mark eyelet positions from the pattern. Install reinforced lace eyelets using an awl and setting tool. Thread flat kid-length laces through the eyelets. Attach size labels to the lining near the tongue or heel area.

Attach sockliner

Glue the pre-cut EVA sockliner to the inside of the upper with a light skim of contact cement along the perimeter. Press and allow to set according to adhesive instructions.

Prepare midsole

Trim the EVA foam midsole blanks to match the last and upper outline. Cut channels or reliefs as needed for weight reduction while maintaining support. If using cushioning inserts, cut pockets in the midsole to accept the gel/foam pods and ensure flush fit.

Install TPU shank and cushioning

Glue the thin TPU shank into the midsole's arch area using contact cement to add torsional stability. Place the cushioning inserts into their midsole pockets and secure with a small bead of adhesive so they do not shift.

Bond midsole to upper

Apply a uniform coat of shoe adhesive to the top of the midsole and the bottom edge of the upper's lasted flanges. Let tack for the recommended time (per adhesive). Last the upper onto the last, align the midsole, and press together. Use clamps or a shoe press to hold assembly until adhesive cures (follow adhesive cure time).

Attach outsole

Apply contact cement to the bottom of the midsole and the outsole. After tack time, align the traction pattern outsole to the midsole, press firmly, and use a roller or press to ensure full contact. Trim any excess outsole material and finish edges with edge trim if required.

De-last and inspect

Once adhesives have fully cured, remove the shoe from the last. Inspect seams, bonding lines, and fit. Make any minor trims to excess materials and tidy stitches or adhesive squeeze-out.

Edge finishing and protective treatment

Apply edge trim or rubberized finish around the sole perimeter to smooth transitions. Spray the upper lightly with a protective water-repellent finish and allow to dry per product instructions.

Quality checks and packaging

Perform quality checks: ensure eyelets are secure, laces are functional, cushioning is comfortable, and outsole is properly bonded. Insert the second sockliner if needed, pair the shoes, insert tissue or shaping forms, then attach labels and package for sale.

Keep sewing machine, glue brushes, and heat press clean. Store adhesives and protective sprays according to manufacturer recommendations. Replace needles and awls when dull to maintain stitch quality.
