Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and limoncello. Whip until soft peaks form.

Assemble the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of the mascarpone filling on top, then place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides with the remaining filling.
