Lamb Topping

Method

Lahmacun Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour covered.

  2. 2

    Make the Lamb Topping

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground lamb, cooking until browned. Stir in tomato, bell pepper, parsley, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Lahmacun

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C). Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle on a floured surface. Spread a layer of the lamb mixture evenly over each circle.

  4. 4

    Bake the Lahmacun

Place the topped dough on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are crispy and the topping is cooked through. Remove from the oven and serve warm.
