Method

Rice

  1. 1

    Cook White Rice

Rinse 2 cups of white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice and 2.5 cups of water in a rice cooker or a saucepan. If using a saucepan, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until tender. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

Salad

  1. 2

    Prepare Salad

In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of mixed greens, 1 cup of halved cherry tomatoes, and 1 medium sliced cucumber. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

Dumplings

  1. 3

    Cook Dumplings

If using frozen dumplings, cook according to package instructions, usually by boiling or steaming. Serve with soy sauce for dipping.

California Roll

  1. 4

    Prepare California Roll

Cook 1.5 cups of sushi rice as per package instructions. Once cooked, mix with 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving about an inch at the top. Arrange thinly sliced cucumber, avocado, and imitation crab meat in a line across the rice. Roll tightly from the bottom to the top, using the mat for assistance. Slice into bite-sized pieces.

Protein

  1. 5

    Cook Protein

Choose between chicken, beef, or shrimp. Season with salt and pepper, then grill, sauté, or stir-fry until fully cooked. Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C), beef to your liking, and shrimp until they are opaque.
