Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

Rinse the edamame pods under cold water to clean them. Place them in a pot with enough water to cover them completely.

  2. 2

    Boil the Edamame

Bring the pot of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the edamame pods and cook for about 5-6 minutes until tender. They should be bright green and easily pierced with a fork.

  3. 3

    Drain and Season

Once cooked, drain the edamame using a colander and return them to the pot. If desired, toss with olive oil and salt for a simple, salted version.

Spicy Version

  1. 4

    Add Sriracha

If you prefer a spicy version, after draining the edamame, add the sriracha sauce directly into the pot.

  2. 5

    Toss to Coat

Toss the edamame in the pot until they are evenly coated with the sriracha sauce. Adjust the amount of sriracha to taste.

  3. 6

    Serve

Transfer the spiced edamame to a serving bowl and enjoy hot as a snack or appetizer.
