Method

Preparing Rice

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium pot, combine 1 cup of white rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Simmer the Rice

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until the rice is tender and all the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Cooking Salmon

  1. 3

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Salmon

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.

  3. 5

    Add Teriyaki Sauce

Flip the salmon fillets and pour the teriyaki sauce over them. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, basting the fillets with the sauce until cooked through.

Cooking Vegetables

  1. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, after removing the salmon, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add bell pepper, broccoli, and carrots. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the sautéed salmon on a bed of fluffy white rice with the sautéed veggies on the side. Drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the salmon.
