Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Clams

Rinse the clams under cold running water to remove any sand or grit. Soak them in salted water for about 20 minutes to help purge any remaining sand.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large pot or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Wine

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and white wine. Stir well to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Cook the Clams

Add the rinsed and soaked clams to the pot, cover, and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the clams have opened. Discard any clams that do not open.

  5. 5

    Season the Sauce

Stir in the chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the clams in bowls with the marinara sauce, garnished with additional parsley if desired. Pair with crusty bread for dipping.
