Prepare the Burnt Honey
In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey and cook until it turns a deep amber color, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, combine Hennessy VS Cognac, Averna, cacao liqueur, and burnt honey. Fill the shaker with ice.

Shake and Strain
Shake well until the mixture is chilled. Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass.

Garnish and Serve
Optionally, garnish with a twist of orange peel or a dusting of cocoa powder. Serve immediately.
