Toppings

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you can add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, wash the lettuce leaves and slice the tomato into thick slices.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Toast the burger buns if desired. On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and then top with the other half of the bun.
