Burger Patty Preparation
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burger tender.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Prepare Toppings
While the burger is cooking, wash the lettuce leaves, slice the tomato, and slice the onion into rings.
- 7
Toast Buns (Optional)
If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Assemble
On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty, tomato slices, and onion rings. Add your preferred condiments such as ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. Top with the other half of the bun.
