Shrimp Marinade

Toppings (optional)

Method

Marinating the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour.

Cooking the Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the shrimp is marinating, slice the bell peppers and onion into thin strips.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced bell peppers and onion. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 5

    Cook the Shrimp

In the same skillet, add the marinated shrimp. Cook over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, stirring occasionally.

  2. 6

    Combine with Vegetables

Add the sautéed vegetables back into the skillet with the shrimp. Toss gently to combine and heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Serve the fajita shrimp with the sautéed peppers and onions on a plate. Add optional toppings such as fresh cilantro, avocado slices, sour cream, and lime wedges to taste.
