Blackened Tuna Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

1

Prepare the Remoulade

In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped capers, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to use.

2

Prepare the Spice Mixture

In a small bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

3

Season the Tuna

Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and then coat generously with the spice mixture.

4

Blacken the Tuna

Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Add the seasoned tuna steaks and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved.

5

Serve

Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice and serve with the remoulade on the side.
