Fried Pickles
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the sliced dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Dunk in Buttermilk
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off before coating in the breading mixture.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully add the coated pickles to the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve warm with ranch dressing on the side for dipping.
