Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Remove the turkey from its packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Ensure the cavity is clean and free from any giblets.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Rub the mixture evenly all over the turkey, including under the skin and inside the cavity.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Smoker

Soak the applewood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).

  4. 4

    Smoke the Turkey

Place the soaked applewood chips in the smoker box. Place the turkey on the grill grate, breast side up. Smoke the turkey for approximately 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste occasionally with chicken broth to keep it moist.

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before carving. Serve warm.
