Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rice

In a large pot, bring 6 cups of chicken broth to a boil. Add the long-grain white rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and fluff with a fork.

  2. 2

    Cook the Meat

In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, add the ground beef and ground pork. Cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  3. 3

    Add Vegetables

Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, celery, and minced garlic to the meat. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

  4. 4

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

  5. 5

    Combine Rice and Meat Mixture

Add the cooked rice to the meat and vegetable mixture. Stir until well combined and heated through. Adjust seasoning if needed.

  6. 6

    Serve

Garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy your Dirty Rice!
