Brownie Base
Method
Preparation
- 1
Make the Brownie Base
In a mixing bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In a separate bowl, combine the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- 2
Bake the Brownies
Preheat your campfire or oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the brownie batter into a greased cast-iron skillet or baking dish. Cook over the campfire or bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 3
Prepare Toppings
While the brownies are baking, toast the marshmallows over the campfire until golden brown. Crush the graham crackers into crumbs for garnish.
- 4
Assemble the Dessert
Once the brownies are done, remove them from heat and let them cool slightly. Serve warm by adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzling with caramel sauce, topping with toasted marshmallows, chocolate chip rice krispies, and graham cracker crumbles.
