1. Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso and Marsala wine. Set aside.
2. Make the Cream Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
3. Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
4. Layer the Cream Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the soaked ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and remaining cream mixture.
5. Chill and Serve
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.
