Ingredients for Fritto Misto
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Breading
In a bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 3
Bread the Calamari and Artichokes
Dredge the calamari rings and artichoke hearts in the prepared flour mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 4
Fry the Ingredients
Carefully add the breaded calamari and artichokes to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes for the calamari and 3-4 minutes for the artichokes.
- 5
Fry the Pepperoncini
Add the whole pepperoncini to the hot oil for the last minute of frying until they are slightly blistered.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried ingredients to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with tomato sauce on the side and garnish with fresh parsley.
