Fresh Fries Ingredients

Method

Fresh Fries Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into uniform sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch for crispier fries.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Dry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of potatoes to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. While still hot, season with salt, black pepper, and paprika to taste.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
