Bread Ingredients

Method

Bread Preparation

1

Mix the Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, oats, salt, and active dry yeast. Mix well to combine.

2

Prepare the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, honey (or sugar), and olive oil. Stir until the honey/sugar is dissolved.

3

Combine Wet and Dry

Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

4

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

5

First Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6

Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.

7

Second Rise

Cover the loaf pan with a cloth and let it rise again for about 30 minutes.

8

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough is rising.

9

Bake the Bread

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

10

Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
